Ricardo Menéndez March - first gay Mexican Green MP

You may've seen the photos of footage of all the new MP's gathered at Parliament yesterday, some have likened it to the first day of school. And we've got a diverse bunch with New Zealand's first African, Latin American and Sri Lankan MPs among the 40 new faces we'll be getting to know over the next three years. As well as the Labour Party's 64 MPs, the Green Party and Act will have 10 MPs each. One of them is Ricardo Menéndez March, who enters Parliament at number 10 on the Greens' list. He spoke with Anna Thomas.
