Those with dementia encouraged to vote without judgement

If you're 18 years of age or older, a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and you've lived in the country for one year or more then you can vote in Saturday's General Election. There's no test to take, it's as simple as that. But people living with dementia can find themselves stigmatised when it's time to go to the polls. Dr Chris Perkins has worked in mental health for nearly thirty years with a particular interest in dementia. She told our reporter Louise Ternouth people with dementia should be encouraged to vote and no one should pass judgement.
