From First Up, 5:30 am on 30 September 2020

Australian scientists have created a simple nasal spray which they believe could be remarkably effective in treating Covid-19. The product, called INNA-051, is being developed by Australian biotech company Ena Respiratory and has been found to reduce viral replication of Covid by up to 96 per cent in animal trials. One of the researchers, the University of Newcastle's head of viral immunology and respiratory disease Nathan Bartlett, told our producer Matthew Theunissen he's confident it will work in people, too.
