AK's latest lockdown not as bad as predicted

New data has found job losses during Auckland's recent lockdown were nowhere near as bad as predicted. Last month Auckland Council forecast 250 jobs a day would go during level three restrictions, but official figures show it didn't hit quite as hard as that. An average of 93 people per day have gone on the Jobseeker benefit in Auckland since the 7th of August - days before the city's level three lockdown - that's less than half the anticipated number. Westpac's chief economist Dominick Stephens told our reporter Amy Williams the economy's reslience has "stunned" him.
