Trans Tasman safe border group work to create travel bubble

A holiday across the ditch could be one step closer with the Australian and New Zealand governments considering a proposal to create a trans-Tasman bubble. A group of 40 experts called the Trans-Tasman Safe Border Group have lodged a proposal for a safe air corridor across the Tasman. Both governments have expressed support for such a scheme, with the Foreign Minister Winston Peters saying the bubble could open as soon as Australia comes up with a plan. Our reporter Louise Ternouth spoke to Auckland Airport's aeronautical commercial team general manager Scott Tasker, who co-chairs the Trans-Tasman Safe Border Group. She asked him what the feedback's been like from airlines and health agencies.
