Sustainable Coastline volunteers collect tonnes of plastic
Polystyrene packaging, plastic drink stirrers, tableware, cups and cutlery, produce stickers and cotton buds will be phased out by 2025 if Labour is re-elected. Labour leader Jacinda Ardern and the party's environment spokesperson David Parker unveiled its waste policy yesterday at a sustainable event space in Auckland. The party also wants to launch a 50 million dollar fund to help New Zealand businesses develop and manufacture non-plastic alternatives. Sustainable Coastline volunteers Sydney and Andrew told Political Editor Jane Patterson what they see when they're out collecting waste at the beach.
