Auckland businesses disappointed in alert level decision
Some Auckland businesses are frustrated that they're missing out on the loosened Covid restrictions now being enjoyed everywhere else in the country. The Takapuna Beach Business Association had hoped the Government would move the city to a level 1.5 and help struggling businesses get back on their feet. The levels change comes after the organisation released data showing retail spending under level 2.5 was down 11.7 per cent on the same time last year. Chief executive Terence Harpur told our reporter Riley Kennedy he was hugely disappointed by yesterday's Government announcement.
