White House scrambles to defend Trump over Woodward interviews

To the US now, where the fall out from tapes of interviews President Donald Trump conducted with veteran journalist Bob Woodward continues. Around this time yesterday, selected audio from the tapes were released in which the President was heard to be admitting to playing down the seriousness of the Covid-19 pandemic in his statements and claims to the public.
