Kiwis flock to the West Coast for housing bargains
It might be New Zealand's last frontier, but possibly not for much longer. Cashed up Kiwis are flocking to the West Coast, snapping up housing bargains with the aim of becoming mortgage-free. According to Real Estate Institute figures, the region had the country's highest increase in regional house sales in July. The 57 per cent increase was the biggest jump in 14 years. Greymouth real estate agent Kevin O'Donnell took a few minutes between house sales to talk to our reporter Tracy Neal about what's happening on the ground.
