Principal wants right to waive exams for some students
The principal of Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Senior School wants the Qualifications Authority to let schools decide if their students should sit NCEA exams in November. Kiri Turketo, says many Auckland students are suffering because they have been through two lockdowns and missed a lot of classroom time. She told our education correspondent, John Gerritsen, schools should be able to award derived grades to students whose learning has been disrupted by the pandemic.
