Meet the Mayors: Mackenzie District's Graham Smith

It's that time of the week we hear from one of our local mayors - this morning we're talking to Graham Smith, the mayor of Canterbury's Mackenzie District. The District has been battling a blaze this week which ripped through more than 3100 hectares mostly wilding pines near Twizel since Sunday morning. A sudden change of weather during the week means the fire is now sitting under a cover of snow but officials say it could still take months to fully extinguish. Mayor Graham Smith spoke with Indira Stewart.
