Hospitality industry ready to serve under Level 2.5

From First Up, 5:37 am on 31 August 2020

Auckland restaurants, cafes and bars are relieved to be opening their doors again today - despite the supercity not yet moving fully down to alert level 2. The city has instead been moved to what the Prime Minister is calling alert level 2.5. It means individual gatherings are restricted to 10 people - but restaurants, cafes and bars will still be allowed up to 100 people present, including staff - so long as no one group exceeds ten. They'll also have to make sure those groups are seated, seperated and served by a single person - and that the NZ Covid tracer QR codes are displayed. Louise Ternouth spoke to CEO of the Restaurant Association of New Zealand Marisa Bidois about the impact of alert level two on the hospitality industry.
