The Mighty Cookbook wins 2 Gourmand World Cookbook awards

A cookbook that was meant to put food on the table for the Waikato's most vulnerable during the Covid-19 lockdown has gone on to pick up awards previously won by the world's elite chefs. The Mighty Cookbook, which was put together by Waikato Civil Defence Emergency management, has won two Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Previous winners include internationally recognised chefs Jamie Oliver and Paul Hollywood - while Nadia Lim is among other Kiwis to have received the honour. Our reporter Riley Kennedy spoke to Nicola Chrisp from Waikato CDEM about the idea and whether they ever thought they'd win awards for it.
