Country ramps up for level 2, 3 lockdown

The announcement that Auckland has community transmission of Covid has sent our largest city and the country's rest homes back into lockdown, prompted queues outside supermarkets and warnings the virus will spread to other centres. Four members of one family are isolating at home after testing positive for the virus, while two others returned negative results. Officials are in negotations about moving them into a managed isolation facility, while testing is being ramped up in Rotorua after it emerged one of the family members visited the city.
