Peter Dunne on weekend election season news
As election season enters full swing, it seems the doors to parliament could be swinging shut on New Zealand First. With the party sitting at just 2 percent in the most recent polls, a win for Shane Jones in Northland has become vital. But a TVNZ Colmar Brunton poll released yesterday put him a distant third on 15 percent, with National's incumbant Matt King on 46 percent and Labour's Willow-Jean Prime on 31 percent. While out campaigning in her Mount Albert electorate yesterday, Labour Leader Jacinda Ardern ruled out doing an electorate deal to help NZ First - or the Greens, who are hoping to win the Auckland Central seat. It came a day after she launched Labour's campaign - where she declared this a covid election. Here to wrap up the weekend's political news and what we can expect from the campaign is former MP and Minister Peter Dunne.
