Tidy Kiwi Des Watson collecting waste, saving marine life
One tidy Kiwi is making his way round New Zealand, picking up plastic pollution and saving marine life one polystyrene sheet at a time. Des Watson started his trip at the beginning of 2019, circumnavigating the South Island collecting around 15 tonnes of waste from parks, waterways and coastlines. After being in lockdown he has restarted his journey in Wellington, towing his trailer complete with bed and fridge, Des funds his trip by offering sponsorship spots on the trailer and a give-a -little page. He spoke to our producer Ellie Jay about what the journey has been like.
