From First Up, 5:50 am on 24 July 2020

NetSafe is warning businesses to be on alert for what's known in the retail industry as "chargeback fraud". Customers are using third party online discount offers to order services paid for with direct bank transfers on platforms like WeChat. The scammers pocket the customers' money, pay the retailer using other stolen bank details, and the order is filled. When the person whose details have been stolen spots the fraudulent transaction their bank organises a refund from the retailer. This is known as a chargeback. Martin Cocker from NetSafe told reporter Chen Liu businesses need to be vigilant.
