Winter sport athletes return to snowy elite training facilities
It's not just the casual skiers that have enjoyed the snow on our mountains in recent weeks, New Zealand's top winter sport athletes have returned to their elite training facilities. A big inflatable landing bag was installed at the Cardrona Resort near Wanaka this week allowing aerial specialists to practice their tricks without the danger of injury. Of course the likes of Olympic medalists Zoi Sadowski-Synott and Nico Porteous and World Cup winning skier Alice Robinson have no idea when they might be able to return to international competition. Snow Sports New Zealand's High Performance Director Nic Cavanagh says their athletes have spent the last couple of months working hard off the snow getting ready for this week.
