Reward offered for return of Taumarunui park's stolen swings
A five hundred dollar reward is now being offered to anyone who can provide information about the fate of some swings stolen from a Taumarunui park. Two seat swings and a nest swing were taken from Nga Huinga Cherry Grove in March and April. After Police were unable to identify the culprits, the Council appealed for the swings to be returned under a no questions asked amnesty. But months later, there's still no sign of them - and the person responsible now faces charges if caught. Karen Ngatai is the Deputy Mayor of the Ruapehu District Council and told Lydia Batham the loss of the swings has caused a lot of upset.
