Idea of managed isolation rules being misunderstood laughable

From First Up, 5:44 am on 10 July 2020

The idea someone could not know the rules in a government managed isolation facility has been described as laughable by a recent returnee. This comes after a 32-year-old man left his isolation hotel and went shopping at the Victoria St Countdown in Auckland on Tuesday night, before testing positive for Covid-19 the next morning. Kate Catilinac left San Fransisco in June, returned to New Zealand via LAX and spent two weeks in managed isolation at the Waipuna Hotel and Conference centre. She told Checkpoint reporter Logan Church the rules were made very clear to her and doesn't understand how someone could break them.
