Rough sleepers more keen for housing since lockdown
Organisations working with homeless people are astounded by the change in attitudes from rough sleepers now wanting to stay in permanent housing. People who have been tough to house are choosing to stay in permanent housing - some for the first time in more than 20 years. But groups working with the community are also warning it's no time to get complacent about homelessness, especially as new faces start to emerge on the streets. Auckland City Mission's Chris Farrelly told housing reporter Eva Corlett there are people he never thought would be housed.
