Thousands of children are overdue a dental check-up

More than 135,000 Auckland children are overdue a dental check-up. Covid 19 restrictions have made long standing waiting lists in the city worse. Auckland woman, Ellie, has seen first hand how the delays can affect children. Her son lost a filling in the lockdown and, though she understands he couldn't be seen then, she got in touch with the service on the first day of level 2. They told her they'd call her back in a week but a month later, and well into level one, she told me she had to chase them up.
