A Samoan worker stuck in Hawke's Bay because of the pandemic says his countrymen are struggling with not knowing when they can return home. Uiti Lagavale arrived in November with 116 others from his village, Poutasi, to work for Johnny Appleseed in Hastings. They were due to return home in May, but the Samoan government lacks quarantine facilities and is worried about them spreading the virus. Mr Lagavale told our reporter Anusha Bradley that many of his fellow workers are increasingly depressed and anxious because no date has yet been set for their return.
