Nelson-Tasman launches economic recovery plan

A recently launched plan to guide Nelson-Tasman's economic recovery will focus on opportunities for young people. The region's economy is pegged to shrink by 8 percent in the next year, while the unemployment rate is expected to rise to 9 percent, in the wake of Covid-19. 26 year-old Troy Stade has degrees in law, international relations and Japanese from Wellington's Victoria University, plus a Master of Science degree in international studies from the University of Tokyo. He's now back home in Nelson job hunting, and told our reporter Tracy Neal he's filling in the time by working on wedding plans with his American fiancee who is still in Japan.
