Nelson cyclist back in Italy to revive professional career

Professional sport with fans has returned to New Zealand but there aren't many New Zealanders heading overseas to resume their careers. One exception is Nelson teenager Niamh Fisher-Black who has returned to Italy in the hope of finally starting her professional cycling career. The 19-year-old left in February after signing with the Bigla-Katusha team, but the coronavirus pandemic forced her home a month later without even getting to race. Fisher-Black, who won the national road race title last summer, is now back at her base in northern Italy and told sports reporter Barry Guy that while in lockdown in Nelson she certainly had doubts about her future.
