Open Pacific travel bubble to help tourism, economies

From First Up, 5:51 am on 16 June 2020

The calls for a Pacific Travel Bubble are growing louder - with former Prime Minister Helen Clark weighing in on the debate saying a Pacific travel bubble should be opened now to help the tourism sectors and economies of covid-free Pacific nations. While much focus has been put on a trans-Tasman bubble, Australia is still reporting cases, meaning many don't believe we should open our borders to them just yet. But the Cook islands, Niue, Tokelau, Samoa and Tonga have all remained covid free - while Fiji hasn't reported a new case in more than 28 days. Pacific health leader Colin Tukuitonga's been vocal about the need for a Pacific Bubble and joins me now.
