Lockdown diaries of two teddies becomes a book

From First Up, 5:53 am on 12 June 2020

During the level 4 lockdown, members of the Wellington seaside village of Eastbourne's Facebook page were treated to the tales of two teddy bears as they coped with a different daily life.

Uncle Squirrel and Puhoi Pete belong to Ann Garry, who as a relief teacher, was facing uncertainty in her job as well as worrying about family overseas in coronavirus-ravaged countries.

The daily tales including delightful photos are now being turned into a book. Ann Garry told producer Katrina Batten that when the lockdown happened she was unemployed with nothing to do and she was surprised by her lack of focus.
