DoC asking public to look out for tangled orca

From First Up, 5:11 am on 11 June 2020

The Department of Conservation is calling on the public to report orca whale sightings along the North Island's East Coast. DOC's Cat Peters says an orca that may be entangled in fishing lines has been spotted several times between Cape Reinga and Whitianga. It was first seen caught up last December, and was seen again last week near Tutukawa. Dr Peters says it's vital for the whale's wellbeing that if it is still entangled, it is found and cut free. 0800 SEE ORCA
