DoC opens up bookings for huts on the Great Walks

Kiwis are being encouraged to take advantage of the lack of overseas visitors booking spaces in huts on the Great Walks. The Department of Conservation began taking bookings yesterday and are expecting to see less demand than usual because of border restrictions. As DoC's Director of Visitors and Heritage, Steve Taylor, told First Up's Lydia Batham, it's a great chance for New Zealanders to explore their own backyard.
