George Floyd's death at the hands of Minneapolis police has sparked widespread riots in the US with more than 40 cities in lockdown as demonstrators continue to clash violently with police. An independent autopsy commissioned by Floyd's family determined the cause of his death was "asphyxiation from sustained applied pressure".
