Taiwan's representative in New Zealand is urging the World Health Organisation to put politics aside and accept the island nation into its ranks when it meets this week. New Zealand, the US, Australia and some European countries are supporting its WHO bid, because of Taiwan's rapid and effective response to the virus, resulting in just seven deaths in its population of 24 million. However, the support has drawn warnings from China, which views Taiwan as part of its territory. Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Auckland, Jeff Liu, told our reporter Kaye Albyt that Taiwan has valuable knowledge that should be shared.
