This Is Us: Dewi Astutipuji

Today, we continue sharing stories from RNZ's This Is Us series, which is showcasing the diversity of Muslim New Zealanders following the events of March 15th last year. Dewi Astutipuji says her migration to New Zealand for a better life is similar to the Muslim Hijra journey in the Koran. She left Indonesia and settled in Hamilton, determined to build a new life and secure a future for herself and her two daughters. This initially involved leaving her daughters behind, a decision that caused pain and anguish.
