This Is Us: Kareem Adel Ismail

It's been almost a year since the March 15 terror attacks on the Muslim community in Christchurch. To mark the anniversary, RNZ has launched a series called This Is Us - showcasing the diversity of Muslim New Zealanders following the events and painting an intimate picture of how we all fit into this place, this country and the larger human fraternity. Here on First Up, we're sharing one story a day this week. First, we hear from DOC worker Kareem Adel Ismail who left Egypt almost ten years ago. He says the mass shootings at two mosques should be considered a "red alarm" for society.
