Dr Hopland worries passengers could be carrying coronavirus

From First Up, 5:43 am on 20 February 2020

An American doctor whose parents have been on board the Diamond Princess says the quarantine didn't work and worries passengers are walking into the world carrying coronavirus. He now fears it could lead to an outbreak in Japan - putting this year's summer Olympics at threat - and hopes none of them are allowed to fly on commercial airlines. Dr Jeff Hopland told First Up Lydia Batham his mother Regina has tested positive for Covid-19 and is in hospital, while his father Arnold has to remain on the shop for a further two weeks, because he's been exposed to the virus. He began by detailing his concerns about how this quarantine has been carried out.
