From First Up, 5:10 am on 17 February 2020

New research by Otago University has found amalgam was used in 7 percent of fillings in 2017 - compared to just over 50 percent in 1998. Associate Professor Jonathan Broadbent is the lead author of the study, and told Sarah Robson the silver filling used to be the only option to save people's teeth, but they've now been replaced by better, tooth coloured materials.
