A police officer has described injuries that hospitalised a 4-year-old boy as some of the most severe he's seen on a child in 30 years in the force. The police are appealing for information after the boy was beaten and critically injured at a Ramsey Crescent address in Flaxmere at the end of January. The boy is in a serious condition in Starship Hospital and is likely to be severely disabled if he survives, and has been brain damaged. Lead investigator Detective Inspector Mike Foster told our reporter Hamish Cardwell the boy was at his home when he received the injuries.
