Defence team launch their case in US impeachment trial

Let's go to the US where a video showing President Donald Trump in 2018 ordering the removal of the US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch - was made public yesterday. The Trump impeachment trial continued over the weekend, with the President's defence team laying out their case and accusing Democrats of seeking to overturn the result of the 2016 election. The Republican president faces two charges: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He is alleged to have held back millions of dollars of military aid to Ukraine and dangled a proposed White House meeting with Ukraine's president, both as bargaining chips.
