From First Up, 5:43 am on 27 January 2020

The funding of a New Zealand top female Alpine Skier is in jeopardy after the theft of almost 100,000 dollars worth of cowhides. Piera Hudson's ranked 34 in the world in the Giant Slalom, but recieves no funding from Sport NZ. Eight years ago her parents, Fiona and John, set up Coastal Cowhides - with 100 percent of the profits being used to fund her 150k a year programme. For the last two weeks they had a pop-up shop in Matakana, north of Auckland, but theives struck on Thursday night - with Fiona Hudson telling First Up's Lydia Batham it's a devastating blow.
