US Senate adopts new rules for impeachment trial

After a long first day of the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, the US Senate has adopted the ground rules for the trial. The 13-hour debate centered around the format of the proceedings and Democrat demands for witnesses to be called in their bid to convict the president of abuse of power and obstruction charges.
