NZ Indians protest controversial Citizenship act in India
Around 150 people gathered in central Auckland yesterday to express their opposition to the Indian government's controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. The Act aims to deny citizenship to Muslim immigrants and refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, while favouring Hindus from those countries. One of the protest organisers, Dr Sapna Samant spoke with our producer Jeremy Parkinson, who began by asking if there was much support for the bill within the Indian community here in New Zealand.
