Navy drones hoping to survey Whakaari White Island today

Let's go now to Whakatane where police will continue their attempts today to get a drone across to the island to assess conditions so they can recover the 8 people still missing. The death toll from Monday's deadly eruption has now risen to 6, with 31 people injured in hospital. Police say burns units around the country are now at capacity. There were 47 people on the island when it erupted just after 2'clock on Monday afternoon. Our reporter Andrew McRae is in Whakatane.
