Donald Trump impeachment hearing starts - Nick Harper

From First Up, 5:09 am on 14 November 2019

In the US, the first public hearing in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump began. It's the first public impeachment hearings in 20 years and only the third in the history of the modern presidency. The televised hearings are a continuation of an inquiry over the past few weeks into whether the US president abused his office's power to seek foreign assistance in the 2020 election. The inquiry was prompted by a whistleblower complaint that Trump was pressuring Ukraine to announce an investigation tied to Joe Biden, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. US correspondent Nick Harper joined Indira Stewart on the program.
