Auckland Council working to ban the public sale of fireworks

Today marks Guy Fawkes - and the last of the four-day fireworks sale season. It's celebrated by many families who share in backyard displays, but for some people and their pets it's a stressful and sometimes dangerous time of year.Auckland Council has been working to get the government to ban the public sale of fireworks following strong feedback from its residents that they'd had enough of the trouble they cause.Cathy Casey is the councillor for the Albert-Eden-Roskill ward, she told our reporter Nita Blake-Persen about the issues the fireworks cause.
