Phil Goff wins landslide victory in weekend mayoral elections
Phil Goff won a landslide victory in the mayoral elections over the weekend, getting more than double the votes than his main rival John Tamihere. But despite now being more experienced in the job, it's not going to be all smooth sailing for the Auckland Mayor, with some of the new and re-elected councillors opposing parts of his vision for the city. Our reporter Matthew Theunissen spoke to one of the new councillors, Angela Dalton, who could potentially be a bit of a thorn in the mayor's side this term. She was elected to the Manukau-Papakura ward on a ticket with Daniel Newman.
