Hawke's Bay hosts first Special Needs Taekwon-Do competition

From First Up, 5:44 am on 2 October 2019

The first ever international competition for Taekwon-Do athletes with special needs will be held in Hawke's Bay this weekend. Competitors from 10 countries will take part in the Napier event on Saturday, including a 60-strong team representing New Zealand. The games are the creation of Special Needs Taekwon-Do New Zealand president, Ben Evans, after failing to find an international event that catered solely for this group. He told our Hawke's Bay reporter Anusha Bradley, the tournament will allow everyone from children to adults to demonstrate their skills and compete in a highly competitive environment.
