Alzheimer's Awareness:what is it and what are the impacts?

This month is World Alzheimers Awareness month - and over the next couple of weeks, First Up will be taking a closer look at the condition in the lead up to World Alzheimers day marked here in New Zealand on the 25th of September. It's estimated that around seventy-thousand New Zealanders have dementia, but that number is expected to more than double by the year 2050. Alzheimers New Zealand's Catherine Hall spoke to our producer Jeremy Parkinson about the impact of the disease.
