Te Awa couple calls for public consultation for Shopping Centre

A Napier couple fighting a proposed shopping centre opposite their newly purchased lifestyle block say the council didn't tell them about it before they bought the property, despite a resource consent being lodged months earlier. Gareth and Jo Jones say they were devastated to be told - just a day before taking legal ownership of their new home - about the development by the Napier City Council. They're one of four properties consulted by the council about the development. The couple say their plans for their dream home are now in tatters and they want the council to hold a full and proper consultation with everyone in the immediate area.
