Protectors still camped out at Ihumatao after continued growing support

Despite assurances from the Prime Minister that construction on Ihumatao won't start until the land dispute is resolved, people are choosing to get work off today so they can continue occupying the site. Peaceful protests to protect the 32 hectare land block in South Auckland from a new housing development continues to receive growing support with thousands of people joining the "protectors" from all around the country. They've promised to continue their roadblock at the entrance to the proposed housing development site until the land is protected. Saturday saw a visit from high-ranking Government Ministers Willie Jackson and Peeni Henare and a concert was held on Saturday which featured well known singers and artists Stan Walker, Ladi6 and Teeks.
