Road to Zero strategy not focussed on right points
Industry and community leaders are calling for more roads to be built after the government yesterday announced a safety strategy that moves away from road-building. The Road to Zero strategy aims to cut road deaths by 40 percent by 2030 and will seek to improve upon existing roads, rather than build new ones. New measures will include lowering speed limits on some roads, increasing spending on road safety infrastructure and improving the safety of vehicles entering the country. Motoring journalist Allan Dick has been a long advocate for safer driving, he joins me now.
