You may remember our story from last week about Celery farmer Stan Clark who is being forced to close up shop after 60 years as a vegetable grower in Pukekohe. Like many other growers, the Clark's family business has been affected by the housing crisis as more and more rural land is being designated for housing. Dr Clive Cornford is a horticultural expert with an interest in growing food for an increasingly urbanised population. He told our producer Lydia Batham the land around Stan's farm which is currently being dug up for housing is one of the country's top soils for growing produce.
